Hammer & Axe Leathercraft has partnered with Zone West to bring custom badges and handmade leather wallets together. Zone West supplies the badges, and we build a wallet around the badge for a clean, secure fit. Whether you are ordering for one member or a whole department, we can help put the pieces together.
What each partner brings
Hammer & Axe is a first responder owned and operated leather shop in Coquitlam, British Columbia. As a firefighter myself, I started making badge wallets because I wanted something practical, well made and worthy of the badge inside it.
Our wallets are handmade in Canada from premium full grain leather and hand stitched with Ritza Tiger thread. We take care with the badge cutout, the stitching and the finished edges because these are wallets people will carry every day.
Zone West brings experience supplying custom badges and uniform accessories to departments. Its emergency services uniform branch, Fahrenheit Uniforms, has shared the partnership on its custom wallets page. Together, we can help departments choose a badge and a wallet that fit each other from the start.
If your department needs badges and wallets
If your department does not currently issue wallet badges, or is looking at a new design, Zone West can help with the badge. Their custom badge options can incorporate a department crest or a new design, and they also offer a semi-custom layout with engraved text.
Once the badge design and dimensions are confirmed, we can work through the wallet options and create the cutout to suit it. Confirming the badge first lets us plan the wallet cutout and attachment together.
We can coordinate the badge and wallet portion of the order so members receive a finished package with the badge installed, ready to hand out. Final badge pricing is confirmed by Zone West based on the design, finish and order details, while we help with the wallet options and group pricing.
Already issue department badges? We can help with the wallets
For departments that already issue badges, we can supply wallets to suit the badges your members carry. We will help confirm the badge shape, size and attachment before the wallets are built.
Start by checking our Badge Library to see whether your badge cutout is on file. If it is not, get in touch and we can walk you through having it added. We will also confirm the badge attachment so the finished setup suits your badge.
If you need additional badges to match an existing department design, we can connect you with Zone West to review the options.
A practical option for department orders and member gifts
Badge wallets can be part of a department's regular equipment supply, a welcome gift for new recruits, or a way to mark a promotion, retirement or service milestone. We work with both departments and union locals, and group pricing is available.
Depending on the wallet model and order, you can choose leather and thread colours and add personal details such as initials or a badge number. We can help you find a consistent look for the group while keeping each wallet personal to the member receiving it.
