Free Leathercraft Card Wallet Pattern (SVG Download)

Custom badge wallet

As a small way to give back to the leathercraft community, I wanted to share another free pattern.

This time it’s a simple two pocket card wallet pattern. Clean, practical, and a great project for anyone looking to make a slim everyday wallet. The file is an SVG and ready for laser cutting, but it can also be used as a template for hand cutting if that’s more your style.

This is a straightforward build that works well for both newer makers and more experienced leatherworkers looking for a quick project.

What’s Included

This download includes a free three pocket card wallet pattern in SVG format.

It’s designed for a minimal card wallet with a slim profile that’s easy to carry and simple to build.

Recommended Materials

For this build, I generally recommend:

  • Leather: 3 to 4 oz

  • Thread: 0.6 mm to 0.8 mm

  • Construction: Saddle stitched by hand

You can adjust the leather thickness depending on the look and feel you’re after, but this range gives a nice balance of structure without adding too much bulk.

Why I Like This Design

The three pocket card wallet is one of those designs that just works.

It keeps things simple, carries the essentials, and doesn’t take up much room in your pocket. It’s also a great project for practicing clean cuts, edge finishing, and consistent stitching.

If you’re looking for a small leather project that is both practical and satisfying to make, this is a good one.

Free to Use

Feel free to download the pattern and use it however you like.

If you end up making one, I’d love to see it. Tag me on Instagram at @hammerandaxeleather so I can check out your work.

And if you want to tweak the design and make it your own, go for it. That’s part of the fun.

Final Thoughts

A lot of what I’ve learned in leatherwork came from other makers sharing what they knew. This is a small way to return the favour.

I hope this pattern helps you build something solid.
