Hammer & Axe Leathercraft started as a hobby in my small shop in Coquitlam, BC. Like most people getting into leatherwork, I learned a lot through trial and error, and from others who were willing to share what they knew.
As a small way to give back to that community, I wanted to share one of my badge wallet patterns.
This is an older pattern that I created, but it’s still a solid build and a great starting point if you’re looking to make your own leather badge wallet. The file is an SVG and ready for laser cutting.

What’s Included
This download includes a badge wallet pattern in SVG format, designed for laser cutting or manual use.
Recommended Materials
For best results, here’s what I typically use:
Leather: 3 to 4 oz for the main body
Badge panel: doubled up or thicker leather to reach about 8 oz
Thread: 0.8 mm to 1 mm
The thicker badge panel helps add structure and durability, especially for everyday carry.

How to Use This Pattern
This pattern is designed to be simple and flexible. You can follow it as is, or adjust it to suit your own build style.
Works well with laser cutting
Can be adapted for hand cutting
Easy to modify for different badge sizes
Free to Use
Feel free to download and use this pattern however you like. If you end up making one, I’d love to see it.
Tag me on Instagram at @hammerandaxeleather so I can check out your work.
And if you want to modify the design, go for it. That’s part of what makes leathercraft great.

Final Thoughts
This business wouldn’t exist without the leathercraft community. Sharing knowledge is a big part of what helps everyone improve, so lets keep it going!
